My stay at Black Forest Lodge was fantastic! I was in town for a conference and stayed for three nights. The location couldn't have been better, with a variety of stores and restaurants just minutes away. The daily supply of towels, trash bags, shampoo, and soap was a convenient touch. I was pleasantly surprised to find a microwave and coffee maker in my room, even though I hadn't booked one with cooking appliances. The suite was adorable and larger than expected, complete with a kitchenette and fireplace. Plus, the bed was comfortable and the TV reception was excellent. a great experience!
I strongly recommend this hotel.

Staff was extremely nice and friendly - we arrived early so they had to hurry to get the cabin ready,
I thought I was paying for the cabin with fireplace and jacuzzi but was directed to a room that was not what I thought I paid for so I had to shell out an additional $40.00 - we were already strapped for cash but it was worth it I guess. Thank You, Nancy

They have a wonderful owner and staff! Very helpful and friendly. We stayed in a darling single cabin. It had a spa like bath tube adjacentto a fireplace. It would be an amazing winter get-away.
I would have liked more lighting in the cabin. It was set up for romance not average travelers.

The location was fine for walking to the marina or the Village. The pool and hot tub were nice, and the place had a lot of character.
We were very disappointed in the quality and cleanliness of the facility. It looked as though it had not been updated in about 20 years. There was significant dust on the carpet in the corners, spiders in the bathroom, loose tiles, the remote control did not work, some light fixtures did not work, etc. The tub faucet jutted out from the wall of the tub and had been poorly repaired with caulk. The suite was dark and dingy. All the walls needed a serious paint job and the pots and pans provided in the kitchen were so scraped from years of use that the teflon coating would come off into your food. The tell-all sign; a sculpted coat of arms on the building had two crossed swords... one was missing.

I recently stayed at a quaint hotel close to the village. The staff at Black Forest Lodge were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The spa tub in the room was huge, perfect for a relaxing soak after a long day. The room was cozy and the bathroom was very clean. Additionally, the hotel was tucked away from busy streets, ensuring a quiet and peaceful stay.
I do recommend this hotel. The only downside was that the pool was not heated and the jacuzzi was not working.

Black Forest Lodge was good for what we paid. It was cleaner and quieter than some of the other reviews indicated. Staff was very friendly and even agreed to ship us some items we accidentally left in the room. Working fireplace in the room was a plus, even though it was warm weather.
The room was very old fashioned and although it was clean, it was clear that almost nothing had been updated in a long time. Made me feel a little bit like I was staying at my grandmother's house, which is not very romantic. Not too much effort put into making you feel welcome in the room (tiny shampoo packets instead of bottles, no door hanger to indicate privacy or no cleaning, burnt out lightbulbs)
